During a press conference Tuesday night, Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall announced Juarez will face multiple counts of aggravated assault on a police officer. The truck stopped in front of a yard before surrendering to officials.
A heavy police presence swarmed the area as officials blocked off the area.
Dallas police arrested 29-year-old Armando Juarez, a person of interest in a shooting that left two officers critically injured, following a brief chase Tuesday.
Two Dallas police officers and a home improvement store employee are out of surgery after being shot while escorting a man from the store.
Earlier yesterday, Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings also tweeted on the shooting: "We are closely monitoring the situation in northeast Dallas and praying for our officers and their families".
After the incident, Juarez's grandmother also responded to the news and said she couldn't believe that her grandson was supposedly involved in the act.
The two police officers were called to the store to help an off-duty officer with removing the man from the store.
"I want to ask each and every one of you for your prayers. for our officers, for their families, and for our entire DPD family, because we need you right now". The department did not immediately provide further details.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott sent "thoughts and prayers" to the officers in a tweet. "Texas honors all the men and women who protect and serve our communities, and justice will be served". Johnson later died in a standoff with police.
