Leafs 'under the gun,' especially Matthews and Kadri

Boston Bruins' Rask steals game 4, can close out Leafs on Saturday

Nazem Kadri understands why the National Hockey League suspended him for three games of the Toronto Maple Leafs' first-round Stanley Cup playoff series against the Boston Bruins.

DENVER - Filip Forsberg scored another creative goal, Pekka Rinne rebounded from a rocky performance with 31 saves, and the Nashville Predators withstood a furious rally by the Colorado Avalanche for a victory in Game 4 to take a 3-1 lead in the first-round series. "We'll classify it as day-to-day, and hopefully he's better and ready to go Saturday", Cassidy told reporters. "We didn't take advantage".

When Kadri saw Bruins forward Tommy Wingels hit Leafs sparkplug Mitch Marner in that game, he suffered a massive a brain cramp, driving Wingels's head into the boards. "Now it's do or die".

The Boston Bruins were hit with some brutal news before this one even started, with Selke Trophy finalist Patrice Bergeron deemed out of Game 4 with an upper body injury.

Toronto Maple Leafs center Nazem Kadri agrees with his suspension for a rather unsafe hit-from-behind he laid on Boston Bruins' Tommy Wingels, but thinks it's a bit excessive. "The reality is we'll go through all of that again and we'll set ourselves up for success".

DeBrusk scored 4:17 into the final period. "Today we did, we did it together and at the end of the day we got the 'W.' So that's great". When guys are skating, the closer they are to playing.

Game 4 is Wednesday night at the Prudential Center.

The Bruins stunned the Maple Leafs just 28 second into the game to quiet an electric Air Canada Centre when Krug's snapshot from the sideboards found its way past Nash and Plekanec in front before glancing in off Andersen's shoulder.

"I was disappointed", he said of the suspension.

Defenceman Adam McQuaid responded at 3:06 of the second to tie the game 1-1 only for forward Patrick Marleau to clap back 43 seconds later with his first of two on the night.

When all was said and done, Boston blocked 27 shots, and the ones that did make it through were eaten up by Rask, who finished with 30 saves.

Asked how concerned he is that Matthews, who scored the victor Monday, has been mostly quiet, Babcock said some of his youngsters are learning hard playoff lessons. "I mean, you can't let too much get to you otherwise it's just going to affect you worse".

"I think (it's) on us", Nylander said. There's regular-season competitiveness and there's Stanley Cup playoff competitiveness, and it keeps amping up. "Play hard, play well, play the right way this time of year, and you'll get an opportunity to grow".

Bergeron had had five assists in the first two games of the playoffs, centering a line with Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak that tallied 20 points in the two Bruins wins.

Penalties are usually few and far between in the postseason but the Bruins' power play was downright explosive in the first two contests (3-for-6 in Game 1 and 2-for-4 in Game 2). But it appears a decision on whether Bergeron will miss a second consecutive game with an undisclosed injury will not be made until game time on Saturday.
