Trump Tower fire victim ID'd as Todd Brassner, art Trader That Offered Warhol prints: reports

Brassner was transported to a nearby hospital but declared dead shortly thereafter.

Police identified the man killed as Todd Brassner, 67, a resident of the building's 50th floor.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and no members of President Donald Trump's family were at the tower during the blaze, Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro said.

The FDNY said that six firefighters suffered injuries.

People were quick to notice how Trump didn't seem to care about the victim who died in the fire of his well-built building, or those injured.

It was knocked down in approximately an hour, he said.

At its peak, flames raged from the window panes as crumbling pieces of ashen materials could be seen falling from the glass skyscraper onto the pavement below.

The fire, which injured four firefighters, was under control by approximately 8 p.m. Saturday, according to the Post.

There were no evacuations, though some residents left on their own, Nigro confirmed.

Trump called city officials like famed Queens politician Archie Spigner, whose council committee compiled the bill, to argue that sprinklers were too expensive - at $4 per square foot - to install throughout an entire building, the New York Times reported at the time. There were no members of first family in residence.

President Trump was not in New York City this weekend.

"Fire at Trump Tower is out".

The Department of Buildings has issued a partial order to vacate residences 50C and 51C, they note, and residents are able to occupy the 55 floor and above or 45 floor and below. He also thanked the fire department.

President Donald Trump took to Twitter with an update that said, "Fire at Trump Tower is out". "But the building sure stood up quite well".

Some fire-safety advocates wanted older apartment buildings to be retrofitted with sprinklers when the city began requiring them in new residential high-rises nearly 20 years ago.

Eric Trump said the fire had been in a cooling tower.
