Buckingham Palace has announced that Prince Philip has been admitted to hospital
Prince Philip has been admitted to hospital and will have surgery tomorrow.
The Duke of Edinburgh has been admitted to hospital in central London for planned surgery on his hip, Buckingham Palace has said. According to statement released by Buckingham Palace, the surgery is slated to take place on Wednesday.
And earlier last month the duke did not attend an event with the Duke of York and Queen because he was reportedly "under the weather".
The duke missed Prince Andrew's appointment as the new Colonel of the Granadier on March 22, but the Palace declined to comment on that matter that the time.
The expected recovery time for Prince Philip's scheduled hip surgery has not been officially announced, and it is unknown if His Royal Highness will be fully ambulatory in time to attend Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on May 19 at St. George's Chapel.
He also missed last Thursday's Royal Maundy Service.
