Sarah Jessica Parker left weighed in on Cynthia Nixon's gubernatorial bid

Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis both came out to support their former Sex and the City costar Cynthia Nixon when she announced a bid for the NY governor's seat.

In a short statement toPage Six, Parker said that: "Cynthia has been my friend and colleague since we were little girls". In fact, the ongoing feud about a potential third movie, Nixon's run for governor is going rather smoothly with her former castmates.

ET spoke with 51-year-old Nixon while she was en route to her first campaign event in Brooklyn, New York, last Tuesday. "A dear friend", Parker wrote in a caption on a photo of Nixon.

"This is a decision that has been a longtime coming", she said of her decision to challenge Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the state's Democratic primary in September.

Parker, who played Carrie Bradshaw alongside Nixon as Miranda Hobbs, has yet to make a public endorsement of her friend and colleague. Cattrall, who has been at odds with Parker for years, offered her "support and respect" via Twitter to Nixon following the announcement of her candidacy.

If Parker also alienates Nixon, it could be catastrophic for any possible future films.

Willie Garson (who played Stanford Blatch), Evan Handler (Harry Goldenblatt), and David Eigenberg (Steve Brady) also tweeted sentiments for Nixon. "And I just want to say tonight, that she was technically right". "She's a New York City mom, very practical and down-to-earth". "On health care, ending massive incarceration, fixing our broken subway". If Nixon's run turns out not to be the one thing they can all agree on, at least we know that avoiding more drama surrounding the show seems to be top at all of their lists of priorities.
