AP Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt sits with other Loyola Chicago fans during the Ramblers' win against Nevada on Thursday in Atlanta
Sister Jean and the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers have advanced to the Elite Eight with a win against Nevada on Thursday night, and America's favorite 98-year-old nun was asked about a potential matchup with Kentucky in the Elite Eight. And the results suggest that Loyola-Chicago is the team on the West/South half of the bracket that would garner the most interest from television viewers.
Loyola head coach Porter Moser said.
"I love that this run is sparking the renewed conversation of what that team meant to our country and integration, and to hear the stories firsthand from them and to hear the brotherhood that they had, the black guys, the white guys, everyone together".
Looking ahead to the game against Kansas State, Moser said it will be a quick turnaround for his team to prepare for the Wildcats' tough defense. "They keep buying in".
Instead, Custer will attempt to prevent the school he could have attended from reaching the Final Four. Yep, they did it again.
With Loyola-Chicago clinging to a one-point lead and only 6.3 seconds remaining, Marques Townes sank a 3-pointer from in front of the Ramblers' bench to continue their improbable NCAA Tournament run. The Wolverines, who had one first-half turnover, had a season-high 58 points in the second half of a 102-64 victory over Chaminade on November 21. It was Townes' time.
Townes, who had 18 points, charged down the court, pumping his fist, following the shot.
The third-seeded Wolverines hit 10 3-pointers in the half; they came in averaging nine in a game.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander missed a tying 3-point attempt as time expired as Kentucky lost a Sweet 16 game under coach John Calipari for the first time in seven attempts. Of Loyola's 29 field goals, 21 were layups, a product of the faster pace but also the ball spacing that created so many open lanes. We really tried to start small (in the second half).
Everything didn't for Loyola in the opening minutes of the first half. Twin brother Cody Martin had 16. A look at Loyola's unbelievable NCAA tourney run.
"I say a prayer, but sometimes there's a little more than talking to God in the prayer", Sister Jean said on "Good Morning America" this week.
The Ramblers closed the half with a 20-4 run as Nevada didn't score in the final 7:55 before the break. The bobbleheads, now available for pre-order, cost be just $25 each, and are expected to arrive in June.
"The '63 team always comes in and always tries to talk to us and give us their support", Townes said.
The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, unveiled a new, limited edition bobblehead featuring Sister Jean in her Loyola jacket and scarf on Friday. "I thought I might have to resort to my nitro (nitroglycerin), but I didn't have to do that", she said after their latest win in March Madness.

Thousands mark St Patrick's Day
Patrick's Day celebrations are happening on P.E.I. today - but the day is marked differently back in Ireland than it is elsewhere. Patrick and it's the day of his death I believe? Until the 1970s, pubs in Ireland were required by law to close on March 17 .
