Winter storm: When to expect the snow, sleet and rain

"For Easter weekend, low pressure is forecast to be positioned to the south-west of the British Isles, with a band of rain, sleet and snow moving northwards".

Outside of a late Saturday night through early Sunday flurry or snow shower, the rest of the forecast should be flake-free.

Acadiana may see scattered showers and thunderstorms (40% or higher) developing Wednesday with highest rain chances and best prospects for a soaking arriving Thursday, near 70-80%.

So far, no further make-up days have been added to the school calendar, school officials said Thursday.

Otherwise, it will be a mostly cloudy night with overnight lows falling back into the 40s and low 50s.

Clouds will begin to increase tonight into Saturday morning.

Just because it's looking cooler-than-average does not mean we won't have more severe weather.

As we enter the final full weekend of March, the weather looks as though it's still going to be quite wintry around here, and some areas will even see snow. Temperatures start out in the 40s Saturday morning and warm into the mid-60s in spite of the clouds and showers Saturday afternoon. Winter is not quite done with us yet as our highs will struggle to make it into the 50's.

For Greenbrier, Monroe and Summers counties, temperatures will remain in the middle 30s and then lower into the upper 20s throughout the nighttime hours, Silverman said.

Travel in the High Country will be hard as Saturday unfolds.

Monday: Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance for rain and a high near 57 degrees.

South of I-74 rain will be the dominate precip type until mid-morning Saturday. Temperatures will be able to stay warm in the upper 60's around Springfield and south of I-44.

Somewhat cooler weather should return by the end of the week in the wake of that front.
