On the occasion of the International Women's Day, several thousand Croatians took to the streets of Zagreb on Thursday evening, demanding the ratification of The Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul convention), the right to abortion and gender equality.

It is a day to commemorate the struggle for women's rights and celebrate the political, social, economic and cultural achievements of women.
