'House of Cards': Get a First Look at President Claire Underwood in the Final Season Teaser (VIDEO)

On Sunday, Netflix dropped a short teaser for the new, final season of House Of Cards - and no, the predatory Kevin Spacey is nowhere to be found!

As reported earlier, the final season will not feature Kevin Spacey, who left the political drama past year amid allegations of sexual misconduct.

The network released the trailer for its final season during the 90th annual Academy Awards. The 45 second teaser trailer shows a bustling West Wing and ends with a shot of Robin Wright as President Claire Underwood.

"We're just getting started", she says as she stands. There were unconfirmed rumors a year ago that Spacey's character would indeed be killed off, enabling Wright's character to take over. The company took the feedback in stride, announcing that Wright's character Claire would be getting a promotion, but it also stated that the sixth season would be the show's last. The idea is that Claire will issue a presidential pardon, but the season ended with that very much in doubt.

Ever since news broke of Kevin Spacey's alleged sexual misconduct, the fate of his popular Netflix series House of Cards seemed to be in jeopardy. Neve Cambell who played Leann Harvey in two seasons of the show is not coming back.

Ted Sarandos, Netflix's chief content officer, later said the final eight episode would mark a "good, creative conclusion" for the series.

Netflix has taken advantage of Oscar gala to launch first advance of last installment of series, whose premiere is scheduled this fall, but without date yet confirmed.
