Neymar is a major doubt for Paris Saint-Germain's last-16 Champions League second leg against Real Madrid after the Brazilian suffered a fractured foot.

Neymar wanted PSG to sign Coutinho from Liverpool last month, only for the Brazil global to end up joining Barcelona instead.

"No, I don't like it when players get injured", Zidane said.

"Today I met with the doctor and he told me of the full extent of the injury and the decisions to be taken regarding his recovery".

Neymar will certainly miss the second leg of their clash with Real Madrid in which they need to recover a 3-1 deficit.

PSG are 3-1 down to Real Madrid following the first leg and face a struggle to qualify for the next round, the quarter-finals set to be played on April 3 and the semis on April 24.

Paris Saint-Germain coach Unai Emery insists that no decision has been made over whether Neymar will have a foot operation amid reports that the Brazil worldwide could miss three months.

The Brazil worldwide was stretchered off in the final minute of his side 3-0 win over Marseille on Sunday after suffering an ankle sprain.

It was clear a tearful Neymar immediately feared the worst and reports suggest that while he should play again this season he will miss the visit of Real Madrid to Paris on Tuesday 6 March.

'The first exams reveal a twist, ' Emery said.

"We'll see how things evolve in the coming days before making a decision with him", he said. Neymar is going to do some new tests.

Neymar has scored 29 goals and provided 17 assists in 29 appearance for PSG since arriving at the club from Barcelona for a world record €222m (£196m, $273.5m) [Sky Sports].

Despite spending lavishly since they took over PSG in the summer of 2011, the club's Qatari owners have so far failed in their bid to establish the club as a European force.
