Pistons' Andre Drummond Will Replace John Wall (Knee) for ASG

01 February 2018, 12:53 | Nina Perez

John Wall injury could open door for Miami Heat All-Star

Philadelphia 76ers guard Ben Simmons

But that hope was quickly wiped away after NBA Commissioner Adam Silver picked Pistons center Andre Drummond to replace injured Wizards guard John Wall on Team LeBron in the February 18 All-Star Game.

Brown, in his second season with Boston, is also having an impressive season.

Coincidentally, all three were to play on the team picked by LeBron.

Alas, Detroit big man Andre Drummond was given the nod, and deservingly so.

Prior to going without an All-Star last season, the Heat had a representative at the event every year since 2005.

Brown now is Boston's second-leading scorer behind Kyrie Irving at 14.1 points per game - ahead of Rookie of the Year candidate Jayson Tatum and All-Star Al Horford - so the Pistons big man might be a little off base there.

Drummond himself threw some shade at Brown on Instagram while simultaneously praising Simmons.

Solid numbers, but not All-Star worthy, even when you account for his defense and his team's record. "Got a lot of respect for Ben, his time is coming sooner than he knows". He was selected by National Basketball Association head coaches as an All-Star reserve and drafted by captain LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Brown is averaging 14.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.

Drummond is certainly right about Simmons, but he's a little off about Brown.

With the Cleveland Cavaliers' Kevin Love suffering a broken hand, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver will name a substitute for Love among Eastern Conference players to fill out the roster for the All-Star Game Feb. 18 in Los Angeles.

The 67th NBA All-Star Game will air on TNT and ESPN Radio. He last week selected Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George to replace sidelined New Orleans Pelicans center DeMarcus Cousins.
