Hyundai Motor to Launch All-New Santa Fe SUV Next Month
Hyundai revealed its latest Santa Fe SUV in Seoul on Tuesday ahead of its release next month.
Following the release of a teaser pic last week that showed us the side profile of Hyundai's new Santa Fe, the Korean carmaker has posted two teaser sketches that preview the front and rear styling.
Several powertrain packages are likely, with an emphasis on a V-6 for the bigger model and an inline-four for the Santa Fe Sport.
The new Santa Fe will borrow some of its styling from its Kona crossover such as the ultra-thin headlights, a similar style line on its side and a similar lower front grille. This engine comes paired with a six-speed automatic shift, which is expected to remain same.
The technologies to be incorporated in the fourth-generation Sante Fe include advanced driver assistance systems and a host of safety features such as safe exit assist (SEA), rear occupant alert (ROA) and rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist systems, the statement said. The ROA alerts the driver if a passenger is in the rear seat, a feature created to prevent parents from accidentally leaving children in a auto that might become dangerously hot inside, the company said.
SEOUL, Jan 30 (Reuters) - Hyundai Motor unveiled on Tuesday a re-designed Santa Fe, hoping the first makeover of the sport utility vehicle (SUV) in six years will help rectify a sales slowdown at the South Korean automaker, especially in the key us market. The midsize SUV will start receiving pre-orders from Feb. 7 and will officially start sales by the end of February.
Hyundai has announced the pricing details of the Kona for the U.S. market, with sales to launch this March. At the moment, Hyundai is yet to finalize whether it will be the Ioniq EV sedan or the full electric version of SUV Kona, but if this does happen, Hyundai will be the first manufacturer to introduce an all-electric vehicle in India, even before Maruti Suzuki, which plans to launch its first EV by 2020.
