Liverpool's Phillippe Coutinho celebrates scoring against Fulham

Liverpool host runaway leaders Manchester City in a titanic Premier League clash on Sunday at Anfield and the lineups have been revealed by their respective managers.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain opened the scoring with a powerful drive from outside the box, before Leroy Sané equalised as he beat Loris Karius at his near post.

England global Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain opened the scoring with less than 10 minutes played to kick-start a fluent Liverpool display and Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah struck in quick succession after the interval.

"This was a historical game you will talk about in 20 years because it looks like City will not lose another one this year".

One of the most eagerly-anticipated matches of the season arrived at Anfield, with the league's most attractive sides going head to head.

Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan grabbed late consolations for City, but it was a day that firmly belonged to Liverpool. Manchester United, who have a game in hand and play Stoke tomorrow, can close the gap to 12 points. "We have a lot of games to win to be champions".

With the score at 1-1, Roberto Firmino deftly chipped goalkeeper Ederson Moraes to regain the lead for Liverpool in the 59th minute.

It's half man of the match poll and half power ranking, and we want to use it to find out who you think played well after each Liverpool match and, at the other end, who you'd maybe like to see given the next game off.

It was a massive victory for Liverpool which moved them up to third place and sent a massive statement to the rest of the Premier League.

But the opening stages were being dominated by Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool and Salah shot wide after 15 minutes following a break before De Bruyne was again involved as his cross fizzed just beyond Sergio Aguero.

Jurgen Klopp described Liverpool's 4-3 win over Manchester City as "historical" and lauded both sides for producing an all-time Premier League classic. City scored two goals and made Liverpool feel the pressure at the end.

Klopp has given Guardiola a few problems in the past.

The second-half saw Liverpool produce a potent eight minute spell to take a shock 4-1 lead.

Salah then got in on the act himself, scooping Ederson's poor attempted clearance over the goalkeeper and into the net from 40 yards.

News that Naby Keita won't be joining Liverpool this January may have stirred some concern among fans ahead of kick-off but, on the back of today's performance, it's certainly clear that Liverpool have the strength and quality within themselves to cope following Coutinho's departure.
