The leaders of those groups will not be allowed to enter Israel.

The Israeli Strategic Affairs Ministry on Sunday issued a list of 20 global organizations, which will be denied entry to the country over their support for the "Boycott, Divestment Sanctions" (BDS) campaign against Israel, local media reported. The list, which was released Sunday, contains groups such as the AFSC that support BDS.

"By waging an all-out intelligence, propaganda and legal war on the peaceful BDS movement for Palestinian rights and by now banning global human rights organizations and advocates from entry, Israel's desperate and brutal attempts to weaken support for BDS are already backfiring", Omar Barghouti, the co-founder of BDS, told the Washington Post.

The blacklist announced Sunday, which follows from that measure, identifies groups that are waging "a false propaganda campaign" and "undermining Israel's legitimacy in the world", the Interior Ministry said.

"The boycott organizations need to know that the State of Israel will take actions to stop them and prevent their representatives from entering the country to harm its citizens", said Gilad Erdan, minister of public security and strategic affairs, in a statement.

"Clearly, the Israeli government is very aware that increasing numbers of Jews and all people worldwide support the BDS movement, and are seeking to intimidate and coerce us into silence", JVP executive director Rebecca Vilkomerson wrote in a Haaretz op-ed.

In March previous year Israel's parliament passed a law barring entry into the country for those supporting a boycott of Israel.

BDS, which stands for "boycott, divest and sanctions", aims to pressure Israel into complying with global law vis-à-vis its policies toward the Palestinians.

To Jeff Halper, the head of the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions, adding the Quaker organization to its list of blacklisted groups proves just how misguided the Israeli government is.

It's nearly as if the Israeli government was making it clear that it does not care for a peaceful solution by standing in opposition of the most peaceful of protests there are: the consumer-backed boycott of services and products provided by those who support violence and military intervention.
