Her roommate later said he and Roland planned to meet later Sunday, but he told KPRC he didn't hear from her again. "She cared for people".

A missing Texas sports journalist - who messaged a companion that a flawed man took after her home - was discovered safe Monday morning, police said. She was driving a '15 Silver Jeep Cherokee Plate HZC7778.

Friends and family of Courtney Roland have been posting on social media about her disappearance, hoping to get information on her whereabouts.

The news organization also said that Roland's mother received a text on Sunday from missing daughter's phone number saying, "Hello the owner of this phone Courtney".

Authorities say additional information will be released later Monday. Roland apparently texted her friend to say a suspicious man was following her at a Walgreens.

Officers said Monday that they found Courtney Roland's white Jeep parked in a lot overnight near The Galleria, a mall in Houston. Her phone and other items were inside the vehicle.

Police said that they do not suspect any foul play, and have no reason to believe any crimes were committed.

Roland covers Texas A&M athletics for Rivals, a Yahoo!-owned online publication focusing on college sports.

According to one post, she left the camp in an Uber and returned home, before later leaving again to go to Walgreens, a U.S. supermarket.

Police said Courtney Roland, 29, was found near the shopping mall where she was last seen a day earlier.

Brian Perroni, a reporter with sports news site 247Sports and who described himself as a family friend, told NBC News that Roland's vehicle, purse and phone were found in the Galleria mall area Sunday afternoon. "Call HPD missing person 832-394-1840".
