Barcelona agree to sign Coutinho from Liverpool - clubs
Liverpool have enquired about the availability of Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho looks set to leave Anfield for Barcelona in the current window, Spanish outlet Don Balon reports.
It's understood the fee consists of an initial 120 million euros, with a further 40 million euros hinging on add-ons involved in the signing.
The transfer cost is only surpassed by the Paris Saint-Germain acquisition of Neymar last summer - and the impending permanent transfer of Kylian Mbappe at season's end. It will also be the highest amount ever received by an English club.
Barcelona-based Sport newspaper said Coutinho would join Barca this month on a deal for five seasons, although it said the details of the deal were still to be finalised.
"Philippe was insistent with me, the owners and even his teammates this was a move he was desperate to make happen", Klopp said.
Klopp said the club had "hoped" they would be able to persuade the player to stay, adding: "The club did everything within our means to convince Philippe that remaining part of Liverpool was as attractive as moving to Spain".

Liverpool rejected three Barca bids and a transfer request from the player during the summer transfer window.
On announcing Couninho's signing, Barcelona hailed Coutinho as "a young player with potential still to be tapped".
