The transport ministry said it had "decided to suspend" Emirates flights to Tunis "until the airline is able to find the appropriate solution to operate its flights in accordance with global law and agreements".
Emirates Airlines announced on Sunday that it will stop its flights between Tunis and Dubai starting Monday, December 25.

The Tunisian transport ministry issued a statement saying Emirates flights would be suspended "until the company finds an appropriate solution to operate its flights that follows global laws and treaties". "We highly value Tunisian women and respect them", he said, without elaborating.
On Friday, the Tunisian government added that it had asked the UAE ambassador to clarify what was happening and had been told that the measures were temporary and had already been lifted.
More than 8000 Tunisians are suspected to have fought with ISIL, hundreds of women among them.
