Although NBC has declined to confirm a reboot, network president Bob Greenblatt had hinted the possibility of this revival when he had relaunched Will & Grace, as reported by TV Line.
From what we understand, the revival will feature a blend of new and old characters, and jt's been made clear that Steve Carell will NOT be reprising his role as the branch's regional manager, Michael Scott.
A search for a new regional manager to replace him is said to be underway.
The US version of the show starred Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer and B. J. Novak. 'I would do it if there was some circumstance where everybody got back together, and could be brought back together in some unbelievable way, I would say yes. "It would nearly have to be a scenario where it's 'the lost tapes of The Office,' where you somehow go back in time and there's all of these lost stories where we weirdly look 5 years older". "I've talked to Greg [Daniels] four times over the past few years".
The revival is in the planning phases mainly because the return of NBC's Will & Grace proved to be a hit. "And if he were to be in charge of it, I can't imagine that I wouldn't want to help out in some way, or write, and I feel like probably the rest of the cast feels the same".
