WhatsApp DOWN - Chat app NOT WORKING for thousands of customers

WhatsApp Bug Lets Users Delete Messages For Everyone After 7 Minutes

On Friday, Globally recognised instant messaging app experienced a global outage which made it hard to send or receive the message on WhatsApp.

Twitter user @AdOketch said: "Many people have died due to #whatsappdown because they can't forward the chain message to their 10 friends!"

According to reports, the Facebook-owned WhatsApp has been experiencing outages since Friday morning. Some even said their privacy settings can not be updated.

Previously in May, Whatsapp had gone offline, putting millions of users in trouble.

Burn! Can anything be worse than this?

A massive Whatsapp outage has been reported throughout the globe as multiple countries have confirmed that the communication app is not working as it should and the problem persists for a couple of hours now.

As per Down Detector's live outage map (via NDTV Gadgets360), WhatsApp users are affected in these areas: India, South East Asia, and Europe are majorly affected, with fewer reports out of the Americas, Africa, Russia, and Australia.

Internet expert and founder of World Wide Worx, Arthur Goldstuck, said that the morning's outage, which lasted nearly an hour, just caused small delays and was an irritation to users.

Multiple users - in countries ranging from India, Brazil and Russian Federation to Vietnam and Myanmar - took to Facebook and Twitter in the early hours of today to report that the social media platform was down in their countries. "This issue has been fixed and we apologise for the inconvenience".

This is because for many people, WhatsApp has replaced SMS as their primary mobile messaging application. That's when I understood it was a major outage.

The global outage lasted an hour.
