Shin Megami Tensei V Announced as Switch Exclusive

The trailer isn't exactly the most informative video clip it could have been, but we do get to see how the game will look beyond the demon artwork previously teased during the Switch announcement.

Atlus announced a while back that the mysterious new Shin Megami Tensei game coming to The Nintendo Switch would be officially revealed today, October 23, 2017. Then the scene cuts to a carnage of demons in an underground tunnel. Though it's a possibility that Atlus has shifted its focus to the Switch as far as its Nintendo releases are concerned, there is still a market for the 3DS, so there's still a slight chance it will appear on that platform as well.

Shin Megami Tensei V is set in modern day Tokyo. The Persona games, for the uninitiated, are a spinoff of this venerable role-playing series, so if you enjoyed what Persona 5 had to offer, you'll no doubt want to jump on the Shin Megami Tensei train from here. At the beginning of this year, Atlus launched a 25th-anniversary event for the Shin Megami Tensei series with a logo that hinted heavily at a new major installment.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Shen Megami Tensei, it's from Atlas, the same company that produces the popular Persona franchise.

We don't have a release date or any other info for SMT 5 other than what we can see in the trailer.
