The Great Washington ShakeOut, organized by the state Emergency Management Division, the Department of Natural Resources, the state Seismic Safety Committee and the state Emergency Management Association, is a chance for people to practice how to be safe if an quake hits.
More than 440,000 people in Missouri and 300,000 in IL have signed up online to take part this year.
