WATCH | Haryana woman slaps army staffer in Delhi, gets arrested

Watch: Gurgaon Woman Repeatedly Slaps Soldier, Now Arrested

As per reports, the woman suddenly stopped her auto, got down and slapped the jawan and again walked back towards it.

Her vehicle has been seized by the Delhi Police.

In the complaint, the army subedar alleged that auto was driven by the accused Smriti Kalra in a zigzag manner ahead of them and despite giving horn, the vehicle refused to give them way.

When the Army driver honked a few times, the FIR claimed, Kalra slowed down and refused to allow the truck to pass.

Kalra, who received major backlash on social media for assaulting a soldier, was produced in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Lovleen, who granted her bail, Additional DCP (South), Chinmoy Biswal was quoted by Deccan Chronicle as saying. He tried to ask her about their fault but she kept abusing them. Subsequently, Kalra was arrested from her home in Gurugram and police also seized her auto.

The army constable who was driving the truck tried to speak to the woman but she allegedly held his collar, slapped him and hurled abuses at him. She was captured on camera by a nearby passer.

Kalra got married to an Army officer's son in 1995 and was divorced in 2008 over marital issues. Police officers said that Kalra was stuck in a traffic snarl just before the incident and had tried to reverse her vehicle and overtake another auto, but was stalled by the Army truck stopping behind her.

"Without any provocation from our side, the woman started hurling abuses and slapped me and my driver for 5-7 minutes". Kalra, who lives in Gurgaon, has been charged with "causing hurt to deter a public servant". This made her lose her temper, the cops explained.
