Hupperterz admitted to "elements of the crime" in a partial confession, Philadelphia police Capt. John Ryan, commanding officer of the homicide unit, said Saturday night, according to Philly.com.

A man has been charged with murder in the disappearance of a Temple University student.

He later allegedly told police that he was too drunk to remember who she was.

After searching a home in Jenkintown on Saturday, police found the woman's body at a property owned by Hupperterz's relative in Wayne County, 141 miles from the city.

Hupperterz was arrested by police at his grandma's home, as indicated by the Philadelphia Inquirer. She said she did not know who the woman was, but heard screams and ran outside to see what was going on.

A Times-Tribune story reported that Hupperterz, who was 25 at the time, broke into a Taylor Avenue home in Scranton in July 2013 and tried to steal a half keg of beer from a shower stall, among other items. Abdulhawa said she searched online for any evidence that he had played on the Temple team, and suspected it was a lie.

"She was an exurberant person", said Danielle Halteman.

Temple University president Richard M. Englert said in a statement the community was "deeply saddened" to learn of Burleigh's death.

Burleigh's dad, Ed Burleigh, posted a sad message on his Facebook page on Saturday, saying: "Our Beautiful Angel Jenna is now in Heaven".

Investigators say Hupperetz killed Burleigh with a blunt instrument and strangulation in or close to his Philadelphia apartment in the early hours of Thursday 31 August after the pair left a bar together.

Burleigh spent the last two years at Montgomery County Community College and began her first semester at Temple earlier in the week.

Temple is offering on-campus counseling 8:30 a.m.to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at Tuttleman Counseling Services. "Now I know for sure that you can have a "broken heart" RIP honey", Burleigh's father, Ed Burleigh, wrote on Facebook.
