Following rumors that the Chicago Bulls intend to buy out the contract of shooting guard and three-time National Basketball Association champion Dwyane Wade, a return to the Miami Heat for the three-time champion has surfaced as a realistic option.

The Bulls have publicly remained adamant about keeping Wade for the entire season, pointing to the need for veteran leadership with their young roster.

"People close to James are fairly confident that, at some point this year, Dwyane Wade is going to end up on the Cavs", Vardon told co-host Chris Fedor .

Wade, 35, averaged 18.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 60 games past year for a Bulls team that made the postseason.

Friedell says those players didn't appreciate Wade questioning their desire to win when Wade himself was not walking his talk, particularly as he sat out practices.

Previously, the Bulls have made clear that a Wade buyout would have to be beneficial to them.

Last season in Chicago, Wade averaged 18.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.4 steals per game in 60 regular season contests.

And given the fact that Wade's contract will be expiring after the 2017-18 season, he could make for a quality piece to use in trades down the line. He also loves to get out in transition, could be on the receiving end of a patented full-court heave from Jokic - the best quarterback in Denver - and is still one of the league's most creative half court improvisers. There are simply other options out there, like Miami, who's likely the leader in the clubhouse for his services, and Cleveland, where he could have a more prominent role.

That hasn't stopped the Wade rumors from slowing down, especially when it comes to his former team, the Miami Heat. A closing lineup of Wade, Harris, Chandler, Millsap, and Jokic is experienced, versatile, and solid defensively. In late April, Wade said he'd keep an open mind about coming off the bench.
