Eclipse was born at 8:04 a.m.

There had been a lot of attention about the solar eclipse that took place on Monday, August 21, 2017 when most Americans looked up at the sky to see the moon and the sun come into flawless alignment. "We're probably going to call her Clipsey".

Later Monday, a total solar eclipse will make its way across the USA for the first time in a century.

The parents had planned to name their daughter Violet.

Eclipse weighed six pounds and three ounces when she was delivered and will officially go by the name Eclipse Alizabeth Eubanks, but her parents have some ideas for nicknames already.

According to the hospital, 6-pound, 3-ounce Eclipse's mother and father "made a last-minute decision to name her Eclipse". The baby's middle name is also a little different.

Greenville Memorial Hospital announced her arrival on Facebook. Babies born at Greenville Health System hospitals were being given onesies celebrating the solar eclipse.

In the US state of SC from the couple named their newborn daughter in honor of the longest solar Eclipse.

The last total solar eclipse to travel from one side of the United States to another was in 1918, and millions took the opportunity to see the rare event.
