Premier League plans to Change Transfer Deadline date

Barber"I think the majority of clubs would prefer the window to close before the start of the season
The Premier League and the EFL will both be seeking thoughts from member clubs on whether or not to close the summer transfer window before the season kicks off in coming years.
The EFL Board and its clubs have previously expressed the opinion that closing the summer transfer window in advance of the season commencing would be an improvement on the current position.
The traditionally chaotic last day of the window which gave us incidents such as Harry Redknapp chatting to Sky Sports through his auto window about how many players he wanted to sign before the deadline that same night may well be happening a bit earlier in the summer from next year onwards.
The Premier League shareholders meet on September 7 and a vote will be held on the subject then, and the EFL will also be tabling discussions and a vote next month.
Would make sense. Can't see why Watford would oppose it? The majority of clubs are in favour but maybe all of us have to be for it to go through.
The Premier League is set to make changes to the summer transfer window and from next summer onwards, the window will no longer continue past the start of the campaign.
This year's window shuts on August 31, 20 days after the start of the Premier League season and 27 after the first EFL clashes.
Several top players are in dispute with their present clubs.
How can clubs strike deals for players when many of them will have joined up with their national teams from as early as August 28?
Arsenal are expected to back the proposal, with Arsene Wenger having repeatedly said in the past that the transfer window should be closed when the season starts.
Other teams in Europe, including those in Spain and Italy, would still be able to sign players from the English teams, in line with their own league's deadlines.
We hear managers all too frequently complaining that the window has not gone to plan so far even after the season has started but that they are hoping to bring in a number of new faces before it closes.
