He was even suspended from work
Fox News host Eric Bolling is now suspended from the network after a report was published last Friday that he sent photos of his "genitalia" to female co-workers years ago. It accuses Ali of "efforts to injure the plaintiff's reputation through the intentional and/or highly reckless publication of actionable false and misleading statements about the plaintiff's conduct and character".
Bolling is represented by Michael Bowe - a lawyer from the same firm as Marc Kasowitz, President Trump's personal attorney until July. Judging by the latest move from suspended Fox News hostEric Bolling, we're going to find out.
Bolling's lawyer said that "the anonymous, uncorroborated claims are untrue and terribly unfair". Ali noted in a tweet that he's named in the suite, HuffPost isn't.
Nevertheless, the summons targeted the reporter specifically, making no mention of HuffPost. Asked for comment about the lawsuit, a Fox News spokesperson did not provide further comment other than noting he is still suspended.
Huffington Post has rallied behind Ali, though, and called him a "careful and meticulous reporter". "Not going to stop reporting on Eric Bolling or anyone else". Fox Business host Charles Payne is now suspended, pending the outcome of an investigation into his own sex harassment charges. That's in addition from saying sexually-harassing things to them, the sources told Ali. Editor-in-chief Lydia Polgreen further said that though Ali is a paid freelancer, not staffer, the company has "no hesitation about standing by him financially in this case".
It's been just over a year since former Fox host Gretchen Carlson sent shock waves through the network by suing then-CEO Roger Ailes.
One of those accusers is Caroline Heldman, who was a frequent contributor on Fox News between 2008 and 2011. When Weiner pleaded guilty earlier this year to sending obscene material to an underage girl, Bolling said he was a "sick human being, to continue to do this time and time again".
