The U.S. Geological Survey shows the location of Wednesday's earthquake in central Oklahoma

The natural disaster knocked out two electric substations, leaving about 1,900 customers without power for about an hour.

The fourth quake detected in central Oklahoma in one day has been recorded near Edmond, Oklahoma.

The strongest was Wednesday's 4.2 near Edmond, which struck at 10:56 pm CDT.

Many residents in the Oklahoma City metro reported feeling another quake Thursday morning. They later downgraded the magnitude to 4.2.

Four other earthquakes of 3.0 magnitude or higher were reported in the area.

The city announced on its Twitter page that all customers should have their electric power back.

"The earthquakes have been clustered close together in an area where there is a known fault", the OCC said. The quake was the sharpest of six tremors detected in the Edmond area over a 24 hour period.

In September 2016, a magnitude 5.8 earthquake-the state's largest ever recorded-struck near the town of Pawnee. The second was a 3.5-magnitude about 12:15 a.m. and the third was a 3.0-magnitude at 2:45 a.m.

The injection of wastewater from oil and gas production into disposal wells has been linked to an uptick in earthquakes, but the commission said Thursday no disposal wells are in the area. Emergency management officials are working to determine possible damage as a result of the larger quake.

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission says its Induced Seismicity Department and the Oklahoma Geological Survey are investigating several earthquakes in the central part of the state.
