Three Killed, Four Wounded In Shooting At Moscow Court

Several people were wounded in a shootout at the Moscow Regional Court in Russian Federation on Tuesday, local media reported. She was injured, her face was [covered] in blood.

Security guards were escorting five suspected gang members in the Moscow Regional Court, Monday, Aug. 1. She said that three of the defendants were shot as they tried to escape, and two others were wounded.

Speaking from Moscow, Al Jazeera's Rory Challands said that the three defendants were members of a gang that were involved in "one of the more lurid episodes of Moscow's recent past".

While in a lift, five suspects "attacked police officers and tried to seize their weapons", Moscow regional police said.

Moscow region's health ministry said that a 45-year-old man and 40-year-old woman were taken to hospital from the Moscow Regional Court with gunshot wounds.




A guard wounded in the gunbattle was rushed to a hospital, and the two guards assaulted in the elevator were also hospitalized with injuries, the committee said.

The men on trial are accused of terrorizing Moscow motorists over several months in 2014.

Prosecutors claim that from 2012 to 2014 the gang committed 15 robberies resulted in the murder of 17 people and attempted murder of another two. Attorney Sofia Rubasskaya, who witnessed the incident, told RIA Novosti that no fewer than 20 shots had been fired.

But state-owned Tass news agency reported that they were accused of being part of the notorious GTA Gang, named after the violent game series Grand Theft Auto (GTA).

Prosecutors said the gang members placed spikes on roads, forcing motorists out of their vehicles before shooting them dead.
