Sevilla sign Nolito from Man City

Manchester City flop Nolito is close to a return to Spain with Sevilla.

The Spanish forward join City last season but struggled for game under Pep Guardiola, having only made 19 appearances in the Premier League.

Sevilla, who finished fourth in La Liga last season, were in the market for a new frontman after selling Vitolo to Atletico Madrid for 36 million euros (£31.5m) last week.

There have been various reports of a fee, but the Spanish media seem to have settle on something in the region of £7.9million (€9million), a considerable hit on the £13.8million that City paid a year ago, but not too surprising considering his desire to return to Spain after rarely featuring during the second half of last season.

"I hope I can leave, whether it's on loan, a transfer or whatever. It's been a year to forget, an experience that hasn't turned out as I'd planned, but hopefully this summer we'll find a solution". It was clear that Guardiola would much rather start his youthful players on the wings.

Nolito also suffered to adapt to the English way of life, claiming that the weather caused his "daughter's face to change colour" last month.
