Bolling on Anthony Weiner: 'He Is a Sick Human Being'

Weiner pleads guilty in sexting case: 'I have a sickness'

Disgraced US Rep. Anthony Weiner to face criminal charges in sexting case

"I have a sickness, but I do not have an excuse", he said through pauses and bouts of tears in an emotional statement.

According to the charges, prosecutors said, Weiner used online messaging and video chat apps to communicate with a girl "he knew to be 15 years old".

After Weiner pleaded guilty in the case, his attorney, Arlo Devlin-Brown, said his client has accepted "full responsibility for the inappropriate, sexually explicit communications he engaged in early previous year".

The British tabloid newspaper The Daily Mail first reported on the explicit texts that prompted the criminal case, based on images and descriptions provided by the teenage girl in North Carolina.

Weiner, once a congressman, then a mayoral candidate, finally just another unworthy husband married to a goddess who is at last (almost) rid of him, has repeatedly exchanged sexually explicit texts and images with a band of women on social media.

"These destructive impulses brought great devastation to family and friends, and destroyed my life's dream of public service", he said in his plea statement.

In 2013, he became involved in yet another sexting scandal while he was running for mayor of New York City. "Yet I remained in denial even as the world around me fell apart". A judge will determine at a later date exactly what his sentence will be.

However, under his plea deal, he is expected to get between 21 and 27 months. His lawyer can request leniency at a sentencing scheduled for September 8.

Weiner said he began getting mental health treatment in the fall, when he said he "came to grips for the first time with the depths of my sickness". "I apologise to everyone I have hurt".

That same month, the FBI began investigating Weiner after the North Carolina girl told the news website DailyMail.com that she and Weiner had exchanged lewd messages for several months.

"I love him, I've forgiven him, I believe in him", she said.

Two days before the election, Comey wrote a second letter to Congress saying that no new evidence against Clinton was found, Fox News reported.

That campaign was the subject of the documentary Weiner, released earlier this year.
