WhatsApp for Android now lets you pin chats, but do we really need the feature?
While WhatsApp is constantly working on bringing new features to its users, the popular messaging service provider has finally added the new pinned chats feature for Android devices. The pinned chats feature was previously spotted in testing earlier this month in WhatsApp beta, but it is now available for all WhatsApp users on Android.
It will allow you to pin the most important conversations to the top of your and therefore make those conversations the first ones you see when you open the app.
Besides, WhatsApp has commented, "With pinned chats, you never have to worry about scrolling through the long list of conversations to text your family members or your best friend".
In any case, now that it is available to the public, the pinned chats feature will allow users to fix important chats on top of any other chats for easy access. WhatsApp users can pin up to three contacts on top with the new feature. With the help of this new feature, users can pin up to three contacts on top of the rest of the conversations. They can do it by long-pressing the option and disabling the Pin button. WhatsApp users will need to download the latest WhatsApp update from the Google PlayStore. This comes in as a handy tool when you have too many chats to scroll down and look for a specific piece of information. Besides the Pin option, WhatsApp users can see other options like Delete, Mute, and Archive. Only this time, select the chats you want to unpin. The new feature is just like the "pin post" feature on a Facebook page if you might have ever operated one. Simply select the unpin icon and the chat will move down the chain of threads, in chronological order.
