US Admiral: North Korea's Actions 'Recipe For Disaster'

Chinese rappers warn S. Korea on US missile defense system

President Moon Jae-in shakes hands with his special envoy to China Lee Hae-chan at Cheong Wa Dae in Seoul

They said the North's "unacceptable" action underscored the importance of the U.S. -Japan alliance.

"Every country has its own troubles". The two agree on the larger goal of a nuclear-free North, and both have said they are open to talks under the right conditions.

North Korea recently made the headlines for testing its ballistic missile launch, leading many to believe that this might be a new strategy towards future dominance in the nation's awide.

The envoy said President Moon was also hoping for an early meeting.

Trump warned this month that a "major, major conflict" with North Korea was possible, and in a show of force, sent the Carl Vinson aircraft carrier strike group to Korean waters to conduct drills with South Korea and Japan.

Under the leadership of Kim, North Korea has been speeding up its pursuit of a decades-long goal of developing nuclear-armed missiles capable of reaching the US mainland.

He is quoted as saying that South Korea had not yet received official word from the United States on whether Seoul should pay for U.S. missile defense THAAD.

However, South Korea downplayed the progress.

China urged the United States and North Korea to commit to a political decision to solve the "nuclear problem". After months of sparring with increasingly threatening political rhetoric from both the United States and North Korea, the USA has toned down its challenges to Kim Jong-un, even though earlier this month, Politico reported that the Democratic People's Republic of North Korea (DPRK) accused, through its Ministry of State Security, the US of plotting the assassination of its leader, Kim Jong-un.

The spokesman said the goal of any conciliatory policy is to "peacefully resolve the North Korean nuclear issue and continue to develop inter-Korea relations", while "cooperating with the worldwide community".

"What we do know is the global community is concern". Haley said, adding that Russian Federation had it "all wrong".

"We're willing to work with South Korea to preserve the hard-won results, properly handle disputes, put China-South Korea relations back onto a normal track and benefit both peoples on the basis of mutual understanding and mutual respect", he said.

North Korea has now carried out three failed and four successful rocket launches since the start of the Trump Administration.

The claim, if true, could mark an advancement in the North's ICBM program exceeding most expectations, said Kim Dong-yub, a professor at Kyungnam University's Institute of Far Eastern Studies in Seoul.

The agreement, struck by Abe and ousted former South Korean President Park Geun-hye, was meant to "finally and irrevocably" settle the matter, with Japan paying 1 billion yen ($9 million at the current rate) to a fund for the women set up by the South Korean government.
