Unseasonably warm temperatures to make for summer-like week

It may start to feel like summer this week, forecasters say

The front promises good doses of rain (a quarter to a half-inch) and chances for thunderstorms and hail.

Tuesday night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1 a.m. There's a chance of precipitation in the evening, with rain likely after midnight.

Thursday. Mostly sunny, with a high near 87 degrees. For the next seven days, it will either be sunny or mostly sunny, according to the NWS outlook.

Saturday Night. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 58 degrees.

Often, however, spring heat waves fizzle before reaching the area where it's most enjoyable - the beach - because the ocean water temperature remains in the low 50s.

Thursday night: Showers and thunderstorms. The breeze will pick up throughout the day and be 11 to 16 miles per hour from the east, gusting to 21 miles per hour, during the afternoon. Low: 64. High: 77.

Once this wet, cool system passes through, Wednesday should be cloudy, but with fewer showers. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 71.

The breezy conditions, and chance of showers, will persist for the rest of the week.

The forecaster also added: "With regards to temperatures, Friday and Saturday are looking to be average to slightly below average (-1 to -3C) but remaining in the teens before returning to around average for the time of year on Sunday". Northeast wind around 5 miles per hour.
