Trump warned of "major conflict" with North Korea after the tests.

North Korea's Vice Foreign Minister Han Song Ryol speaks during a meeting at the People's Palace of Culture in Pyongyang, on May 11, 2017.

Usually, such mission centres are stand-alone units which focus on specific issues integrating CIA's assets.

Washington has suggested military action could be on the table but President Donald Trump has softened his message more recently, saying he would be "honoured" to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un.

He said the Central Intelligence Agency does not appear to want to, for example, jam North Korean communications or drop weapons on it.

An intelligence source here said it will be headed by Andrew Kim, a leading Korean-American North Korea expert in the CIA who retired early this year.

No concrete evidence of the alleged plot has been provided by the North. "According to our law, the Central Public Prosecutor's Office of the DPRK will use all available methods to start to work to demand the handover of the criminals involved, so as to punish the organizers, conspirators and followers of this awful state-sponsored terrorism", Vice Foreign Minister Han Song Ryol said.

The country has identified the primary suspect as a man named "Kim". It says he is a North Korean resident of Pyongyang who worked for a time in the Russian Far East.

"The new Mission Center draws on experienced officers from across the Agency and integrates them in one entity to bring their expertise and creativity to bear against the North Korea target".

It reiterated the government's determination "to hunt down and mercilessly smash every single one of the terrorist maniacs of the CIA and the South Korean" Intelligence Service.

The state-run KCNA news agency has described the CIA and the South Korean Intelligence Service as "man-killing groups" and "dens of evil".

He stressed that North Korea could never achieve parity with the USA so it uses its nuclear weapons card as blackmail to get concessions or to force the United States into negotiations.
